COMPLIANCE

IS ECHOREACH COMPLIANT?

Not only is what we do compliant, it is absolutely necessary to building a business online today.

Identity resolution, exactly as EchoReach does it, is something all big-tech and Fortune 500 companies are doing already. We simply make it accessible to “everyone else.”

We are GDPR compliant by restricting the operational scope to users within the US, and adhere to advertising industry guidelines from the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).

We emphasize transparency in data collection by recommending our clients update their website consent forms. We provide guidance on consent language that aligns with current industry standards for ethical data practices. However, we always advise clients to consult legal counsel to ensure full compliance with applicable regulations.

Here are 3 of the most popular myths about identity resolution online and why ECHOREACH is 100% compliant with all current regulation.

1) I CANNOT COLLECT A USER’S DATA UNLESS THEY CONSENT & GIVE IT TO ME.

The data captured by our pixel is the HEM (hash email) which is anonymous data. We then pull this HEM offline and match it to our identity graph giving you a 1st party list of site visitors.

2) I MUST HAVE A USER’S CONSENT TO EMAIL OR RETARGET THEM.

Outside the US (and especially in the EU), this is 100% true. In the US, however, email marketing and retargeting individuals that have visited your site is 100% legal when following the CAN-SPAM Act.

3) A VISITOR MUST OPT-IN FOR ME TO SEND THEM AN EMAIL.

Email lists are bought and sold daily for emailing, mailing and marketing purposes. As long as all the rules are followed cold email marketing is still a viable marketing tool and compliant.

We have documented every relevant regulation that our customers need to be aware of when using ID resolution and the necessary compliance step for each — all of which are necessary if sending emails or retargeting regardless of ID resolution. View it here!
